LSA go down fighting in first ever Twickenham appearance...

18th August 2007

By Matthew Fendick

LSA went down 14-7 to Rosslyn Park. Unfortunately just prior to kick off a steady drizzle poured down on to the playing surface. Along with some different interpretations of the ruck situation, our competitive advantages of ball-pilfering from tackles and using our pace-men out wide were nullified.

All points were scored in the first half, with Trevor Grundelingh scoring a trademark try from inside centre near the right hand 15 metre line. Matt Fendick converted. A brilliant cross-kick from Vaughan Gilson collected by Dave Kelly at full dive was not awarded as he was turned over by the time the officials arrived on the scene.

All in all, an excellent day and invaluable experience for the boys involved which was well supported by the LSA faithful.
