Shield XV narrowly lose.......

3 November 2007

By Mike Vowles

The LSA Shield team had a disappointing result this week going down 22-19 to Worthing. The game was really tight with momentum swinging from one side to the other throughout the 80 minutes. Worthing were first to score after capitalising on a LSA mistake. However, the Shield side bounced back with a great try which was converted as they started to gain the upper head.

The see-saw battle continued into the second half and with 5 minutes to go LSA was hanging onto a 19-15 lead. The fitness or lack thereof, became apparent as Worthing, who managed to put together a good number of phases, crossed the try line and converted to secure a 22-19 win. Credit must be given to the LSA players who gave their all and never stopped trying.
