LSA Suffer Minor Setback...........
London South Africa suffered a blow as they lost 35-7 away at Chobham in the semi-final of the Surrey Cup. The exiles could be forgiven however, as their priority clearly lies in getting automatic promotion as it is going down to the wire. The visitors didn’t ever really seem in the first half as Chobham ran in 25 unanswered points before Malcolm Mirfin managed to get one back for the Warriors. Matt Fendick’s conversion gave LSA a glimmer of hope, but it was not to be. Despite a much improved second half performance, Chobham’s superior defence held out and they managed to add two more unanswered tries.
LSA’s focus lies solely with the league, and with two games to go they can afford no slip-ups. A win next week sets up a final day promotion decider on April12th against Old Wellingtonians at home, and with the Warriors holding the advantage they must rise to the challenge if they are not to be the nearly-men this season.
